Common Questions:
-
No, not at all. I am happy to work from a court order, a formal parenting agreement, an unofficial agreement between co-parents, or a parenting schedule you are still working through.
You provide the parenting schedule and agreements you would like reflected, and I map them onto a clear calendar so you can see how everything works together across the year.
-
To begin, I'll need the information that determines how your family's parenting schedule works. Depending on your situation, that may include your regular parenting rotation, holiday agreements, parenting-time arrangements, school calendars and breaks, birthdays, vacations, family traditions, exchange information, and any other scheduling guidelines that are important to your family—such as avoiding three weekends in a row.
If you have a court order or written parenting agreement containing this information, you can provide it. If you don't have a formal order, that's okay too. We'll start with the parenting schedule and agreements you already have.
-
Either is fine.
Some parents prefer a conversation so they can talk me through their parenting schedule and the details that are important to their family. Others would rather provide everything by email.
I'm happy to work in the way that is most comfortable and efficient for you. Either way, final calendar agreements and confirmations are documented by email so there is a clear written record of the schedule being used.
-
Every family's calendar is different, but most calendars can be completed within a few days to a few weeks.
Timing depends on how quickly I receive the information needed to begin, whether we schedule introductory calls, and whether any scheduling questions or adjustments need to be worked through before the calendar can be finalized.
My goal is to carefully review the details and create a calendar that both parents can clearly understand and use, rather than rushing the process simply to meet an arbitrary turnaround time.
-
Absolutely. You don't need to wait until January to create a family calendar. We can work out the remainder of the current year or focus on the upcoming year.
If you purchase a personalized calendar during the year, I can prepare the entire calendar year, including the months that have already passed and the schedule going forward. You provide any changes that occurred earlier in the year, and I will incorporate that information into the calendar along with the upcoming parenting schedule.
This also allows me to provide a full-year Parenting-Time Summary based on the information you provide.
It's never too late in the year to bring clarity to your family calendar.
-
That's okay. Your annual calendar can be created before summer vacation dates have been selected.
Once vacation dates or other summer plans are decided, they can be incorporated through an included or additional Calendar Adjustment. As with other calendar changes, the updated schedule will be finalized after the applicable scheduling decisions have been confirmed.
You don't need to leave the rest of your year unplanned simply because summer hasn't been worked out yet.
Your calendar can be created now and thoughtfully updated as your family's year takes shape.
-
The Parenting-Time Summary included with personalized calendars is calculated using overnights.
Each overnight is credited to the parent with whom the child is scheduled to spend that night. At the end of the calendar year, those overnights are totaled to provide a clear picture of how the parenting schedule is distributed across the year.
The Parenting-Time Summary is provided as a calendaring and planning tool. It is not a legal determination of custody or parenting-time percentages.

Your personalized calendar service includes the initial calendaring work needed to take the parenting schedule, holiday provisions, school calendar and other information you provide and map it across the year. I will review the completed calendar, identify scheduling issues that may need attention, and provide practical options for you and your co-parent to consider.
Often, parents are able to review those options and reach an agreement quickly. Sometimes a scheduling question requires additional changes, further calendar analysis or several rounds of consideration before a solution is reached.
A Calendar Adjustment provides an additional round of calendaring work when more extensive changes or analysis are needed.
This may include revising proposed dates, reviewing how a new proposal affects the surrounding schedule, recalculating parenting time, identifying new scheduling complications created by a proposed change, or preparing additional calendar options for both parents to consider.
I don't charge for ordinary questions or simple clarifications during the calendaring process. However, when additional back-and-forth requires me to substantially revisit or rework the calendar, a Calendar Adjustment will be used.
Calendar Adjustments can also be used later in the same calendar year when life changes—a vacation, work trip, family event, summer plan or other agreed-upon scheduling change may mean that your original calendar needs to be updated.
Some personalized calendar services include Calendar Adjustments. Additional Calendar Adjustments are available for $99 each.
I will always let you know before an additional $99 Calendar Adjustment is needed and you can purchase it directly from the website.
Additional Calendar Adjustments are available only to clients with a current personalized calendar service.

My role is to help make the scheduling issue easier to see and understand. When appropriate, I can identify practical, neutral calendar options for both parents to consider, with an eye toward the surrounding schedule, unnecessary transitions and overall parenting-time balance.
I do not make decisions for your family, and I cannot require either parent to accept a proposed adjustment.
If we are unable to reach a mutually acceptable calendar solution, the calendar will remain a planning draft rather than a Final Confirmed Family Calendar. You may then choose to work through the unresolved issue with your attorney, mediator or another appropriate family-law professional.
-
Yes. You do not need both parents to participate in order to have a personalized calendar prepared.
Sometimes a parent wants to see a proposed parenting schedule mapped across an actual year while working through parenting arrangements with an attorney, mediator or co-parent. I can take the schedule, proposed holiday arrangements and other information you provide and create a Calendar Planning Draft showing how those provisions work together across the year.
I will also review the completed calendar for scheduling issues that may deserve a closer look—such as holiday overlaps, unusual stretches of parenting time, unnecessary transitions or changes to the overall parenting-time balance—and identify practical calendar options for you to consider.
You can then use the Calendar Planning Draft as a visual planning tool in your discussions with your co-parent and family-law professionals.
If agreements are reached later, send me the confirmed scheduling decisions and I can update the calendar accordingly. If both parents review and confirm the completed schedule in writing, I can then provide a Final Confirmed Family Calendar.
A Calendar Planning Draft reflects the information and proposed schedule provided to me. It does not represent an agreement by the other parent and is not a legally binding document.
-
No. A calendar created by The Co-Parent Calendar Concierge is a planning and organizational tool and is not a court order or legally binding agreement.
Whenever possible, I prefer to create a calendar that both parents have reviewed and agreed upon, and I request written confirmation by email before designating a personalized calendar as final.
I am not an attorney or legal professional. I cannot provide legal advice, determine your legal rights, modify a court order, or prepare or file legal paperwork. If you need to make a legal change to your parenting arrangement, please consult an attorney or other qualified family-law professional.
-
I understand how sensitive the information contained in parenting agreements, court orders, school calendars and family schedules can be. After more than 15 years of working with families and their personal information, I take privacy and the careful handling of client records very seriously.
Your information is used only for the purpose of providing your calendaring services and is handled with care and discretion.
Please note that communications and documents provided to The Co-Parent Calendar Concierge are not protected by attorney-client privilege. Additional information about the handling and retention of client information can be found in our Privacy Policy and Service Agreement.
-
Your completed calendar will be delivered electronically as a PDF file, making it easy to save, view, print and share.
Our calendaring correspondence and final confirmations are handled by email.

Attorneys, mediators, co-parenting therapists and other family-law professionals are welcome to outsource the detailed calendaring work to me.
You provide the parenting schedule, holiday provisions, school calendar and other relevant scheduling information, and I create a custom calendar showing how those provisions work across the actual year. I can also provide a summary identifying areas of the calendar that may warrant a closer look, such as holiday overlaps, unusual stretches of parenting time or transitions created by the written schedule.
You can then work with your clients to resolve any outstanding decisions within the scope of your own professional role. Once the scheduling decisions are provided to me, I can update the calendar accordingly. You will receive a final PDF calendar to provide to your clients.
You handle the work you do best. I'll handle the calendar.
